Kaarn Copeland and Susie Sikora
Northcutt
Our certificated Employees of the Month are a dynamic duo – sixth grade Northcutt Elementary School teachers Kaarn Copeland and Susie Sikora. Kaarn joined the district in 2000 and Susie joined in 1996 - they both began at Northcutt and have taught nearly every grade level. Both teachers were nominated by several of their students. One student said “Mrs. Copeland is always committed to help, encourages and supports her students in her funny loving way. She not only has changed my life but plenty of others by combining education and fun in her classroom.” Another student expressed his gratitude, recalling how he didn’t meet his Accelerated Reading goal and Mrs. Copeland introduced him to books to read to eventually meet his goal. In Ms. Sikora’s nomination, a student said, “I nominated Ms. Sikora because she is one of the nicest teachers. She is very understanding and always encourages us to do our best.” Another student shared that during the pandemic, Ms. Sikora delivered sixth grade graduation reports to each students’ house on her own time – showing her dedication and commitment to caring for students.”
